Gallup Gauntlet 2017 Fundraiser
On April 18, 2015, our friend Andrew Gallup was in a devastating motor vehicle accident resulting in a Severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). He has progressed slowly, fought several infections and is trying to regain the ability to do the most elementary tasks such as speaking, eating and standing. We are so proud of his will and effort. However, Andrew is severely restricted and cannot stand, care for himself, turn over, sit up, bathe, walk, etc. He needs intense care 24 hours a day since he is totally disabled. We believe he has the ability to recover, but we know it will take a long time. Join us at 410 Crossfit in a fundraising workout of the day "WOD". This workout is open to anyone and you do not have to have crossfit experience (all movements can be scaled)! We will review the workout ahead of time and make sure you feel comfortable. We just ask that you show up 30 minutes prior to the workout you sign up for. Let's all be grateful we have healthy bodies and we are able to participate :) We are hopeful that Andrew will be able to attend this year and see how many people support his recovery! We welcome all of our friends throughout the CrossFit community to join us at 410 or to host the WOD in your own gym on this same day. There’s no cost to join us; we just ask that all participants make a donation at the gym (cash or check) or here on this website. T-shirts & tanks can be purchased here on Eventbrite and can be shipped or picked up at 410 Crossfit. We'll also have them available for purchase at the event. *PLEASE ORDER YOUR T-SHIRT BY MAY 1st* You do not need to be participating or present at the event to purchase a t-shirt. We would love to see photos posted of you wearing your shirt in support even if you can't make it!! Heats @ 11am, 11:30am, then 12pm. Spectators are welcome for all heats! We'll have heats every 30 minutes, each with 10 teams of two. So we have 20 spots available in each heat. Get two "tickets" for yourself and your partner, each sign up individually or feel free to register solo and we'll find you a friend. **We can open up more heat times as needed, but would love to fill the heat times already listed first! We'll stay all day if that's the turn out we have!** 20 minute AMRAP partner WOD: 4 Burpees over Bar 18 Power Cleans #95/65 20 Wall Balls #20/14 15 Toes to Bar *One person working at a time. Athlete must complete entire round before the next athlete starts. Cornhole competition begins at 1pm. A bracket will be completed ahead of time. Purchase 1 ticket per team. We're working on getting a DJ and some food vendors to support, but feel free to bring any coolers, chairs, etc. We encourage everyone to stay a while. All funds will go to “Andrew Gallup’s Special Needs Trust” to help with Andrew's therapy, equipment, in-home care and other not-covered healthcare costs.
